The OPPO UDP-205 Signature modification is the ultimate upgrade providing significant step-up in performance compared to the stock player. Whether you want the ultimate picture quality for your home cinema system, or are looking for a high-end digital hub for your music, the OPPO 205 Signature mod is designed for the most demanding user.
This modification is for existing owners of the OPPO UDP-205 and requires the player being sent either directly to Audiocom or via your local OPPO dealer. Once the player is received we will install the mods to the player within typically 5-7 working days.
The 205 Signature modification does not affect your original 2-year OPPO warranty which is retained should the player require servicing.
We also supply the UDP-205 Signature modification are a finished product complete with Multi-region/ Multi-Zone and a 2-year approved warranty.
In the OPPO UDP-205 Signature modifications we replace the main power supply with a high performance linear type which includes a low noise toroidal transformer, large can type audio grade electrolytic capacitors, discrete schottky diodes, linear technology voltage regulation. The linear power supply provides a lower noise floor to the main board as well as reducing spurious EMI/RFI.
Additionally, we use unconventional mains filtering before the video and audio power supplies. This actively dampens noise and rejects noise on the incoming AC.
We modify the 4K BD drive with custom CNC parts which replace mechanical components in the drive with highly precise and extremely rigid materials. This ensures rigid disc clamping and resonance control, providing improved disc read accuracy and lowest mechanical jitter.
The analogue audio section of the player is fully optimised to take full advantage of the ES9038PRO dynamic range and extremely low distortion. The conventional 3-pin voltage regulators for the analogue stage are replaced with ultra-low noise, discrete types which have 1/168 output noise and nearly 2000 times the Ripple noise rejection (PSRR). This provides a very low noise floor, while improving dynamic range and stereo separation.
To achieve maximum performance from the ES9038PRO DAC (2-channel) we replace the factory installed audio clock with a 68 Femtoseconds jitter Reference clock. That’s an astoundingly low 0.068 Picoseconds, amongst the lowest in the industry. (frequency measurement 100 Hz to 100 KHz) The clock utilizes ultra-low noise discrete regulator circuitry, 1.1nV/√Hz @1KHz with a PSRR of 132 db @ 6V.
